| Indications: rheumatoid arthritis, advanced osteoarthritis, chronic musculoskeletal pain, post surgical and dental pain; adenomatus poliposis coli Cautions: hypertension, liver failure, renal failure; Should be used with caution in the elderly, in allergic disorders, during pregnancy and breast feeding, and in coagulative defects. In patients with renal, hepatic or cardiac impairment caution is required since the use of NSAIDs may result in deterioration of renal function. Contraindications: known hypersensitivity to this drug and sulfonamides; aspirin induced asthma, Contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulceration, Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis. They should be avoided in patients with previous gastrointestinal bleeding or ulceration, and should be withdrawn if gastro-intestinal lesions develop.They are also contra-indicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any other NSAIDs – which include asthma, angio-oedema, urticaria or rhinitis Side-effects: see notes above; headache and dyspepsia; rashes, gastrointestinal upset, headache, insomnia, abnormal liver function tests |
